Al Riyadi Club, Champion of Club Chess 2007

Following its continuous wins for 6 consecutive years,   Al Riyadi Club did not miss the Lebanese Clubs Championship in Rapid chess for the year 2007. The event was held on December 2007, in Beirut Arab University which hosts most of the Chess events in Lebanon. Al Riyadi team players were the traditional team representing the club for the last few years, managed by IA Charles Kayleh and containing most of the lebanese title holders. Second place was for the traditional 1st runner up for the last years, Beirut Development Association (Tanmia) headed by IA Abdallah Chahine.

Antoine Kassis, Champion of Rapid Chess 2006

No surprises were scored in the individual Rapid Chess Championship 2006, won by Antoine Kassis. For more than 15 years, Kassis was always one of the most solid chess players in Lebanon. His results have always been stable among the top ranks in every lebanese competition he contributes in. His last title was not a surprise, but was not also an easy achievement. A fierce competition by Nassim Sakr, a player whose most achievements were in Rapid Chess, ended up by equal results scored by the two players at the end of the championship. Kassis won the title by Tie break. Congratulations...
